European Presidential Conference on Innovation and Clusters
A European Presidential Conference on Innovation and Clusters will be held in Janury 2008 under the helm of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU.
The Competitiveness Council of December 4th 2006 welcomed the initiative of the Commission aiming to stimulate cooperation through a reinforced cross-border/trans-national dialogue. A first step in this direction was the establishment of a European Cluster Alliance that was build upon 4 on-going cluster policy projects (inno nets), co-founded under the PRO INNO Europe Initiative, that bring together more than 50 partners in Europe.
The Baltic Sea Region Innovation Network – BSR InnoNet – has been asked to organisation and execution of the European Presidential Conference on Innovation and Clusters.The Swedish Government has agreed to host the Conference and the Slovenian Government has positioned the Conference as an activity in the Slovenian EU and will chair the Conference together with the Swedish Government and the Commission's DG Enterprise.
